"Domingo De Carnaval" is a complete, entertaining, well told and interesting thriller full of comedy, directed by Edgar Neville Madrid ("El último caballo", 1950), IV Count of Berlanga De Duero, in addition filmmaker painter, writer and playwright. The work, as well as an entertaining, is a grateful and documentary portrait about a small part of popular culture, being historical Rastro (born about 1740 market) the privileged setting of the plot written by the director himself.Neville is a writer and filmmaker, friend of Chaplin and as many authors and artists, finds the humor to reach audiences, as in all his films. "Domingo De Carnaval" is a film with a touch moralist, for the treatment of wide shots crowds of ecstatic people in those sequences carnival. But Neville always want to carry forward the mood and police themes he loved, flee tragic realities of today and then and entertain the public about evasion arguments. In this film works with his wife (after separating from his first wife), Conchita Montes a brash brunette beauty, who plays a detective improvised, to see her father accused of a crime.
Neville makes a great work in the dialogues, very well made, as good writer and characters presented correctly. Your romantic moment with Commissioner (Fernan-Gomez) exudes style and dance sequences from before in the theatre to the "burial of the sardine" plunges the viewer into a hubbub of crowds and confusion that draws the viewer as a stranger more behind the mask.
