After tonight’s debate, I’ve got like 15 pages of scribbly nonsense notes and enough talk to make a jaw fall off. But i’ll keep it brief, per the format:
- In the only question of the night that I liked, after one “practice” round of semi-evasive answers, Obama swept shit up identifying health care as a right. I agree, as if that counts for shit. Unfortunately, the reality of his health care package ever living to take its first steps? Nil. This thing will be in one hot minute, provided we all still have the right to choose. While I understand the maneuver, this is a promise that he must know he cannot keep, yet will irrefutably held accountable for. You’d have to have as much disingenuous enthusiasm in the ability of America to “DO IT ALL AT ONCE” as McCain to really believe that given our economic circumstances, major health care overhaul is even a distant possibility. It isn’t. There isn’t the money. Can somebody please acknowledge this?
- Tom Brokenjaw’s selection of questions was mostly repetetive, but in one instance irresponsible; what was that Russia insanity? Obama bit it hard on that, but did Brokenjaw just basically try and lure a threat of military action out of the two of them? Was he drunk? There was no angle from which to approach that question that would not make future diplomacy totally ~*awkward*~. Way to try and reanimate the corpse of “the Leaders of the Free World.”
- Having just given myself eight ulcers obsessing over McCain/Palin’s ploy to plant the seed of race war in the malleable minds of this nation’s finest xenophobic mooncalves, he unsurprisingly kept those viscous, taffy-like lips pulled shut instead of continuing to paint Obama as a “domestic terrorist.” It had a sad cowardice to it, in stark contrast to the 72 hours of balls-out venom that preceded the night. The question becomes, then, does Palin know she’s a Patsy?

She is a patsy. They’re trying to make it look like Palin should take the fall for the race-baiting. Today the Ayers connection wasnt even mentioned, I think because they were at a PA rally together. It’s so transparent.
